Ericsson-LG is a joint venture between the Swedish Ericsson Group and the South Korean LG Electronics Group.

Company details

Ericsson-LG was founded in November 2005 under the name LG-Nortel . On June 29, 2010, Ericsson bought the Nortel stake in LG-Nortel and subsequently renamed the company LG-Ericsson . The company, which employs around 1,500 people, designs and markets telecommunications and IT solutions for companies and telecommunications network providers. On September 1, 2012 the name was changed to Ericsson-LG. Ericsson-LG Enterprise has also been active on the German market since April 2011; distribution initially took place via Also Actebis. Since January 1, 2015, the products have been sold by Konstrukteins AG, which specializes exclusively in these products.

The distribution takes place through an exclusive network of specialist dealers throughout Germany.

Products

The company has a range of IP telephones ( MGCP / SIP / H.323 ), WiFi and DECT terminals as well as video telephones (SIP) which are compatible with a variety of developed solutions for companies. The portfolio also includes network products such as the LG-Ericsson ES-2000 and ES-3000 switches with 24/48-port Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet . The switches are available in different versions with and without PoE .

The company also has a range of IP and hybrid telephone systems for the SOHO and SMB markets. In the SOHO market, LG-Ericsson offers an all-in-one solution with the “SBG1000”. In addition to two ISDN connections and four SIP trunks, it also includes a DECT and a WiFi access point . Up to 23 IP devices and up to six DECT / four WiFi devices can be operated as mobile devices.

The SME sector is covered by the iPECS family. These telephone systems consist of self-sufficient modules that can be networked at any location and support analog , digital and IP terminals as well as DECT and WiFi handsets . Various applications complete the portfolio.

Composition of participation

Nortel paid $ 145,000,000 for 50% of the shares plus one share, so the stake with LG Electronics was balanced. Nortel sold their 50% plus one share to Ericsson for $ 242,000,000.
