The LIMAK Austrian Business School is a business school in Linz and Vienna , Austria .

Until 2009 it was the business school of the Johannes Kepler University . On the occasion of the bundling of the postgraduate courses of the Johannes Kepler University, the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and the LIMAK Johannes Kepler University School, a further development of the institution was initiated in 2009 and thus the founding of an umbrella institution was decided - the LIMAK Austrian Business School.

The focus of the LIMAK Austrian Business School is on the training of executives and their organizations in the field of management and leadership .

history

The LIMAK was founded in 1989 as a Linz Management Academy in cooperation between business, industry, the public sector and the Johannes Kepler University Linz and is the oldest business school in Austria. This partner network reflects a core idea and goal of LIMAK: to meet the further qualification requirements of executives in industry, business and administration in a needs-oriented and implementation-oriented manner.

In March 2018, a second location was opened next to Linz, in Strozzigasse in Vienna - Josefstadt . The courses started in November 2018.

22 companies and institutions currently form the LIMAK sponsoring association. Nine on the LIMAK board are actively involved in the development of LIMAK and its services, which ensures that LIMAK is needs-based. So far, over 13,076 executives and 945 MBA and Master’s graduates have been trained at LIMAK. The LIMAK faculty consists of national and international (USA, China,) university professors, university lecturers, experienced consultants / trainers and managers from industry and business. LIMAK specializes in extra-occupational courses and master's programs for managers as well as tailor-made in-house programs (company programs). Internationality, direct practical relevance and practical transfer are part of the LIMAK teaching and learning model as well as personal and social competence. This LIMAK competence model is expanded to include intercultural competence in MBA programs.
