London Metal Exchange Index

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The London Metal Exchange Index (LMEX) is an economic commodity index that shows the price developments of the base metals traded on the London Metal Exchange (LME), the world's largest metal exchange. These are the six non- precious metals aluminum , copper , lead , nickel , tin and zinc .

meaning

The LMEX represents the basis of the prices at which options and futures are traded on the LME. This makes it the most popular reference for the performance of the world's most important base metals. The weighting of the index and the calculation of the respective trading sizes ( lots ) as their average are based on the worldwide production quantities and their trading volume over the last 5 years .
