The university's administrative headquarters are located not far from the Brussels-North train station at Koningsstraat 328 in Brussels . Campus facilities are located in the cities of Brussels, Ghent and Leuven . The training focuses on architecture, art and music. Until September 15, 2012 the university was named Hogeschool voor Wetenschap & Kunst (WENK or W&K)

History of origin

The university was created in 1995 by merging 8 higher education institutions: De Nayer instituut in Sint-Katelijne-Waver , Honim in Brussels, Kardinaal Mercierinstituut in Brussels, Lemmensinstituut in Leuven, the Narafi film school in Brussels, Sint-Lucas Architectuur in Brussels and Gent, Sint-Lucas Beeldende Kunst in Gent and Vlekho in Brussels. In the following years there were still some changes, but overall the new university grew closer and closer. Since July 2007 the departments HONIM (Hoger Onderwijs van Imelda) and VLEKHO (Vlaamse Ekonomische Hogeschool) are no longer part of the WENK , but have been affiliated to the HUB (Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel) . In return came in 2011 Hogeschool Sint-Lukas Brussels as a new department ( department ) to W & K .

Since 2002 W&K has been a member of the Associatie KULeuven, a collaboration between the KULöwen and eleven Flemish universities. Today the university has around 3800 students and offers around 30 art and architecture courses on six campuses in the cities of Brussels, Ghent and Leuven. In September 2012 the name was changed to the current name.
