The LUIS 4U green is an electrically powered, compact SUV from LUIS Motors GmbH . The vehicle body is very similar to the Daihatsu Terios .

Series production of this vehicle began on November 25, 2009 in Shanghai , China . The delivery to Asian and European commercial customers took place since the beginning of 2010. The LUIS 4U green is produced in cooperation with the Chinese manufacturer Zotye International (Zhongtai) in a joint venture.

The LUIS 4U is green with a permanent magnet - synchronous motor driven without brushes. It has a maximum output of 27.5 kW and can deliver a torque of 240 Nm. The lithium iron phosphate batteries are housed in the floor of the vehicle. The battery weighs 350 kg and can deliver a maximum of 35 kWh. The motor and the control electronics are located at the front.

The accumulators can be charged in 4–10 hours using a standard 230 V socket. With a quick charging station for power (three-phase alternating current), they can be charged to 95% in 20 minutes.

With its 35 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, the car has a maximum range of 270 kilometers. The maximum speed is between 90 and 130 km / h, depending on the software version. The basic version costs 39,000 euros. A special model with numerous extras should be available for 49,999 euros.
