The Laënnec Glacier is a 5 km long glacier on the east side of the Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows northeast to Hill Bay .
Aerial photos by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. from 1956 to 1957 were used for mapping in 1959. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the French doctor René Laënnec (1781-1826), the inventor of the stethoscope .
