The Brabant Island ( French Île Brabant , English Brabant Island ) is the second largest island in the Palmer Archipelago . It belongs to the British , Argentine and Chilean Antarctic Territories . The island is located south of the Bransfield Strait between Anvers Island and Liège Island . Its north-south extension is 53 km. It is 25 km wide, has an area of 976.8 km² and in Mount Parry reaches a height of 2520  m (according to another source 2522  m ).

The island , which has not yet been explored due to its inaccessibility, is a volcanic field whose volcanoes were still active during the late Pleistocene (<200  ka  BP ).

The Brabant island was named by the Belgica expedition (1897-1899) under Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery after the then Belgian province of Brabant in recognition of the support of its population.
