Tower Island is 7.1 km long, 4.9 km wide and 305 m high island on the northeastern foothills of the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 30 km north of the entrance to Charcot Bay and is separated from Cape Kater by the Orléans Strait .
The Irish-British navigator Edward Bransfield discovered them on January 30, 1820 and named them after their round shape.
