La Dorsale ( French for the backbone ) is a long, narrow and up to 33 m high mountain ridge on the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . Its extension forms the highest point of the southern part of a peninsula, the northern extension of which is Cape Margerie .
French scientists named it descriptively in 1950.
