La Fouly used to be a mountain pasture in Orsières. Summer tourism has been developing since the beginning of the 20th century. The place has only been inhabited all year round since 1965, when the access road was cleared in winter. Nowadays the place is popular as a starting point for mountain tours and, thanks to its quiet location, with families who want to hike and ski.
