La Hougue Boëte (also called La Tête du Fief de La Hougue Boëte) is located on the Rue des Buttes in the parish of Saint John in the north of the Channel Island of Jersey .

The oval 4.5 m high, steep mound of earth contained a stone box ( English cist ), which was excavated in 1911. The box, built with double walls on both sides, was half filled with clay on which a small stone structure was located. Inside the clay was the unusual burial of a man, complete with the skull and chest of a horse. Other surviving but lost finds were a round container and a fragment of a green stone ax . In 2003 the horse's tooth was examined, which was found between 60 BC. And was dated 50 AD. This makes La Hougue Boëte one of the latest megalithic systems to be built .
