La Maison du Chocolat

La Maison du Chocolat ( French for The House of Chocolate ) is a French luxury chocolate manufacturer. Legally, it is a Société par actions simplifiée (SAS). The company's headquarters are in Nanterre, west of Paris . The company sells its products exclusively itself.

history

In 1955, the chocolatier Robert Linxe opened a shop in Paris under the name Marquise de Presles , which he sold to Gaston Lenôtre in 1977. He then renamed the company La Maison du Chocolat . Linxe remained with the company to this day.

In 1987 a second branch of La Maison du Chocolat was also opened in Paris. Another store was added three years later on Madison Avenue in New York City . The headquarters were relocated from Paris to Nanterre in 1995. In 1998 and 2004 the company also opened offices in Tokyo and London .

Today the company operates a total of around 30 branches in the metropolitan regions of Paris, Cannes , London, New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong .
