Laboratory (Stuttgart)

The laboratory is a music club and cultural center in the east of Stuttgart that has existed since 1972 . It is operated by the Lab Association founded in 1981 . There are concerts with blues rock , world music , folk , roots rock , jazz and alternative rock . In addition, cabaret and theater evenings as well as political lectures and discussions take place.

history

The laboratory was founded in 1972 by Heidi and Randolf "Randi" Schmid when they took over the jazz club Jazz-Workshop2, Daddy's Inn from Uli Braunschweiger , which he had set up in the event hall of the Linde restaurant . The couple ran a laboratory in Karlsruhe from 1964 to 1967 .

Others

The cult pub Schlampazius is attached to the laboratory . Loriot appeared at the opening .

The chairman of the lab association is Rolf Graser, managing director Anette Battenberg.

Lab Festival

Once a year, on the last weekend in August, the three-day Lab Festival takes place at the "Bergern Sprudler" in the lower castle garden. With free admission, the tent festival offers a cross-section of the laboratory's annual program. There is also a children's program.
