The Lac Saint-Augustin is a lake in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale the Canadian province of Quebec . It is mostly in the area of the city of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures and to a lesser extent in the provincial capital Québec (in the Arrondissement of Sainte-Foy-Sillery-Cap-Rouge ).
The 2.3 km long and up to 300 m wide lake reaches a maximum depth of six meters and has an area of 60 hectares . It has no notable tributaries, but is fed by underground springs. Outflow is a stream called Décharge du Lac Saint-Augustin , which flows into the Saint Lawrence River after 1.5 km . The Lac Saint-Augustin is the remnant of an arm of the St. Lawrence River that was formed after the last glacial period and flowed north of the Colline de Québec (in contrast to the river bed south of it today).
