The Lac d'Orient (Eng. Orient Lake ) is an artificial lake in the Forêt d'Orient Regional Nature Park in the Grand Est region in France . It is the largest lake in the natural park and the third largest artificial lake in France.
history
The lake was inaugurated in 1966 and is connected to the Seine by two canals . It should serve as a retention basin or to maintain navigation at low water.
The three artificial lakes in the nature park and the surrounding forests and meadows have been protected as a Natura 2000 area since 1986 .

As a tourist destination, you can swim and sail in the lake.
