The Ladoga train station ( Russian Ладожский вокзал - Ladoschski voksal ) is the youngest of the five main train stations in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg and is the only one of the five not a terminus, but a through station .
The station is on the right Neva -Ufer on Sanewski Prospekt next to the metro station Ladozhskaya . The station has a capacity of up to 26 long-distance and 50 local train pairs. The check-in halls for local traffic are located in the basement of the reception building, those for long-distance traffic are on the upper floor. Long-distance trains depart in various directions, including Moscow and Helsinki . With the regional trains - also called Elektritschkas - you can go to Volkhov , among other places .
There were plans for the Ladoga train station for the first time in the 1980s. However, the construction work was frozen for a long time due to lack of money and only began in 2001. The new station was opened in May 2003 on the occasion of the celebrations for the 300th anniversary of the city of Saint Petersburg.
