The Luka camp was an internment camp in Brčko operated during the Bosnian War . It served the Vojska Republike Srpske to intern mainly Bosniaks and Serbs .

history

From May 1992 to early July 1992, Serbian troops detained hundreds of Bosnian Muslims and Croats in the camp, a warehouse on the Sava River , under inhumane conditions and under armed guard, with prisoners being systematically killed.

consequences

On December 14, 1999, Goran Jelisić was sentenced to 40 years in prison at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia for having committed crimes against humanity and violating martial law. In October 2004, Rajko Češić pleaded guilty to 10 murders and two sexual assault cases in the camp and was sentenced to 18 years in prison. On November 14, 2011, Branko Pudić, a security guard in the camp, was charged with "daily torture, inhuman treatment and suffering" to the civilian population in the camp. On December 21, 2011, Monika Ilić was arrested in the camp on suspicion of committing war crimes against non-Serbs.
