The residential building at Lageschen Strasse 29 in Detmold in the Lippe district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) was built in 1888 by the private builder Philipp Knollmann on behalf of the Secretary of State Friedrich Horstbring . The designs for this come from the city architect Hermann Cuno Heufer .
The two-story quarry stone building stands on a high basement floor . The house consists of three parts. From the street side you can see the north-western part of the building with a half-hip roof , to which a risalit seems to be in front on the right side . However, this merges into an orthogonally extending component, which in turn bends at right angles to the northeast. The remaining roof areas are designed as saddle roofs and covered with dark gray, profiled pans.
The windows in the basement and ground floor are covered with segmental arches .
In front of the risalit there is a five-sided, slate-covered bay window on the ground floor, which is supported by a profiled column, which in turn merges into a protruding console at the top . Below the far overhanging roof gable is an open space , on the top of the gable a weather vane.
On the south-east side a single flight of stairs with wrought-iron balustrade leads to the house entrance, the door of which is still in its original state. The entrance is covered by a small wooden balcony. The gable on this side of the building also has an open space.
Doors and baseboards from the period of construction have been preserved on the upper floor, and remains of stencil painting in the hallway. Some windows on the back of the building are still in their original condition.
Since July 20, 1992, the house has been registered as an architectural monument in the monument list of the city of Detmold .
