The Sea of Cobá ( Spanish: Lago Cobá ) is a lake in the state of Quintana Roo in Mexico , on the banks of which the eponymous village of Cobá is located.

The almost completely circular lake is located west of the famous maja town of the same name, Cobá, and is surrounded by a reed belt in which crocodiles live. To the east lies the similarly large Lago Macanxoc .
