1st stage

On the rainy first stage, a four-man leading group led by the Austrian Bernhard Eisel (Dimension Data) took off and the group had a lead of a maximum of 4:30 minutes. Eisel won two mountain classifications and thus took over the mountain classification. The group was placed 50 kilometers from the finish. Andrij Hrywko (Ukraine / Astana) then attacked and was in the lead until the last mountain classification of the day, the Skistua . He was caught up on the climb and Fabien Grellier (France / Direct Energie) won the last mountain classification. As a result, a good 25 drivers were at the top. The group sprinted on the uphill straight. Dylan Teuns (Belgium / BMC) won the sprint with a few seconds ahead of August Jensen (Norway / Coop).

2nd stage

Six drivers were able to break away from the field at the beginning, including Dimitri Claeys (Belgium / Cofidis) and Erwann Corbel (France / Fortuneo) and had a lead of a maximum of 3 minutes. Due to the speed work of the spiral teams like Katusha or Cofidis, the group was caught up again and there was a mass sprint. These chose Alexander Kristoff (Norway / Katusha) before Hugo Hofstetter (France / Cofidis) for themselves. Dylan Teuns kept the blue jersey for the leader in the overall standings.

3rd stage

Shortly after the start, eight drivers pulled away, including the Austrian Bernhard Eisel (Dimension Data) and Daniel Díaz (Argentina / Delko). The outliers showed a maximum advantage of 3 minutes. Shortly before the final ascent, a good 5 kilometers from the finish, all outliers were set again. After there was an elimination run on the final ascent, where only the best could keep up, a small group sprinted. This won August Jensen (Norway / Coop) in a photo finish before the overall leader Dylan Teun (Belgium / BMC). As a result, Teuns kept the blue jersey.

4th stage

At the start of the stage, six drivers pulled away, including Bernhard Eisel (Austria / Dimension Data) and Dimitri Claeys (Belgium / Cofidis). After Eisel was able to secure more points in the mountain classification, he won the mountain classification in the overall classification and was presented with the salmon-colored jersey. 21 kilometers from the finish, all outliers were found again. Then four drivers pulled away: Andrij Hrywko (Ukraine / Astana), Sven Erik Byström (Norway / Katusha), Fabien Grellier (France / Direct Energie) and Loic Chetout (France / Cofidis). However, the four were also caught. On the last smaller wave of the day, the overall leader Dylan Teuns (Belgium / BMC) pulled away and secured the stage victory with a few seconds ahead of his pursuer. He also won the Arctic Race of Norway 2017 in the overall standings, which was his third overall victory after the Tour of Poland 2017 and the Tour de Wallonie 2017 within a good three weeks.
