Lagoa da Vila ( Portuguese for "city lake") is the name given to two small, closely spaced water basins in the center of the city of Santa Cruz da Graciosa in the district of the same name on the Portuguese Azores island of Graciosa . The lakes used to be used as water reservoirs and cattle troughs. Today they are filled with concrete and converted into decorative city ponds, which are bordered by flower beds and dragon trees.
