Laharpur is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .

The city is part of the Sitapur district . Laharpur has the status of a Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 25 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 61,990 inhabitants, of whom 31,878 were men and 31,737 were women. Muslims make up the majority of the city's population. The literacy rate in 2011 was 60.49%.

The foundation stone for the city was laid in 1370 AD by Sultan Firuz Shah Tughluq (1351-1388 Sultan of Delhi ) when he was on the way to the shrine of Saiyyad Salar in Bahraich .
