The Lahille Island ( French Île Lahille ) is a 5 km long island off the Graham coast of the West Antarctic Graham Land . It is located 3 km west of Nuñez Point in the entrance to Leroux Bay .
It was discovered during the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot , who erroneously named it Cap Lahille . He cleared up this mistake during the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908–1910). It is named after the Argentinean ichthyologist Fernando Lahille (1861–1940) , who came from France .
