The Nuñez Point ( French Pointe Núñez ) is a headland on the Graham Coast of the West Antarctic Graham Land . It is located at the western end of the Takaki Promontory and marks the entrance from the Grandidier Canal to the Leroux Bay to the northeast .
The headland was discovered by participants in the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903–1905) led by polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot . He named it after Captain Guillermo Núñez of the Argentine Navy. In 1950, the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names accepted the name of the headland in its English spelling.
