The SC Aachen (officially: Sportclub Aachen eV ) is a futsal club from Aachen . The first team played in the first-class Futsalliga West from 2015 to 2018 .

history

In 2011, the Schwarz-Rot Aachen club founded a futsal department that competed in the second-rate Middle Rhine league for the first time in the 2013/14 season. At the end of the season, the department split off from the parent club and founded SC Aachen. The club is not to be confused with the Aachener SC , which existed from 1910 to 1997. Already in the first season under the new name, the team won the championship of the Middle Rhine League with a clear lead over local rivals Alemannia Aachen and thus made it into the first-class WFLV futsal league . There, in the following season 2015/16, on the penultimate matchday , the Aacheners managed to stay up with a 9-2 win against PSV Wesel-Lackhausen . Also in the 2016/17 season in the Futsalliga West , the Aacheners managed to keep the class in seventh place. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that SC Aachen, in seventh place, had the best defense in the entire league. In 2018, the club withdrew the team from the Futsalliga West despite sporting qualifications.
