location
The community was essentially west of the valley of the White Elster on two mountain ridges. In the west was Moschwitz , in the northwest Untergrochlitz and in the northeast the city of Greiz. To the east of the municipality was the municipality of Dölau (Greiz) in the valley .
history
Caselwitz-Grochlitz was created on January 1, 1922 when the communities Caselwitz and Obergrochlitz merged . As a result, the Caselwitz town of Neucaselwitz, which bordered directly on Obergrochlitz, was integrated there. The Krellenhäuser , which at that time still belonged to Caselwitz , came to Moschwitz. After only ten months of existence, the community was incorporated into the city of Greiz on October 1, 1922, along with numerous other places . The new district "Caselwitz-Grochlitz" was later renamed Obergrochlitz / Caselwitz .
