Lake Gunn is a lake in the Southland region on the South Island of New Zealand in the Fiordland National Park .
The small lake is located directly on State Highway 94 leading from Te Anau to Milford Sound . The lake is traversed by the western branch of the Eglinton River and is surrounded by native vegetation. Nearby are the smaller lakes, Lake Fergus and Lake McKellar . The watershed between the Eglinton River and Hollyford River is 4 km north of the lake.
The lake was named after George Gunn, a farmer who discovered the lake in 1861.
