Pathosray is an Italian progressive metal band from Udine , which was founded in 2000 under the name NDE .

history

The band was founded in 2000 under the name NDE by drummer Ivan Moni Bidin, guitarist Luca Luison and singer Marco Sandron. In 2001 the band recorded their first demo called Strange Kind of Energies , which was released in 2002, with the band then being called Pathosray. In 2006 bassist Fabio D'Amore and keyboardist Gianpaolo Rinaldi joined the band and recorded another demo called Deathless Crescendo . In autumn, the recordings for the debut album Pathosray began . The album was recorded in Angel's Wings Studio by Nico Odorico and Mattia Sartori .

Then Alessio Velliscig joined the band as the new guitarist. The group sent the album to Intromental Management and reached a management contract with them. Shortly thereafter, the band reached a contract with the Sensory Records label . The album was mixed by Tommy Hansen at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark in July 2007. The cover was done by Mattias Norén from ProgArt Media . The album was released in the US on October 27, 2007, in Canada and Europe on October 26, and a month later in Japan via Marquee / Avalon. After the publication, several appearances followed in Italy and in September 2008 an appearance in the USA on the ProgPower USA . Two weeks later there was an appearance at ProgPower Europe in the Netherlands .

The rest of 2008 the band spent working on the new album Sunless Skies . The album was recorded by Ivan Moni Bidin and Fabio D'Amore at Artesonika Studios in Italy and mixed and mastered in Sweden by Johan Ornborg and Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios . The band reached a deal with Frontiers Records for worldwide release. The album was released in Japan through Soundholic Records . The album was released on April 24th in Japan, on May 25th in Europe and on June 9th in the US. On September 25th an appearance at the ProgPower Scandinavia in Denmark followed. Then guitarist Alessio Velliscig left the band and was replaced by Antonio Petris in summer 2010.
