The Lake Hope ( Spanish Lago Esperanza , translated lake of hope ) is a small lake on the Trinity Peninsula in the north of Graham Lands of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 800 m north of Mount Flora in the Five Lakes Valley immediately east of the head end of Hope Bay .
Argentinian scientists named the lake based on the name Hope Bay ( Spanish Bahía Esperanza ). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated this designation into English in 1966.
