The Lake Quinault Lodge |
Lake Quinault is a lake on the Olympic Peninsula in western Washington state .
It is located in the glacial valley of the Quinault River on the southern edge of Olympic National Park in the northwest of the United States .
Lake Quinault is owned by the Quinault Indian Nation and is accessible via US Highway 101 .
Tourist activities are fishing and hiking. A road more than 45 km long leads around the lake and offers a view of the lake. At the southern end there is a system of hiking trails that are maintained by the National Forest Service and are suitable for day trippers.
On the south side of the lake is the historic Lake Quinault Lodge , part of the Olympic National Forest . On the north side there are mainly private houses and smaller tourism businesses.
