Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens
Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens is a park and botanical garden in the Indian city of Bangalore . It was commissioned in 1760 by Hyder Ali , the then ruler of Mysore , and completed under his son and successor Tipu Sultan . The foundation stone for the greenhouse was laid in 1898.
The park is home to over 1,000 different species of plants, including some trees that are over 100 years old, as well as an aquarium and a lake.
Lal Bagh Gardens is one of the city's greatest tourist attractions and one of the most extensive collections of trees in the world, with trees from Pacific Islands, Australia, California, South America and Africa.
Entry to the park is free in the morning from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and in the evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
