The Lam Nang Rong Reservoir ( Thai เขื่อน ลำ นางรอง , RTGS khuean lam nang rong , English Lam Nang Rong Dam ) is a large reservoir in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan . The dam is in the district ( Amphoe ) Non Din Daeng - not far from the Ta Phraya National Park - in the extreme southwest of the Buri Ram province .
The 23 meter high and 1,500 meter long dam - located 2 km southeast of the small town of Non Din Daeng - is used to irrigate the fields in the area and a waterworks for the surrounding communities. The lake has become a popular destination for fishing, swimming and picnicking for local tourists, especially on weekends. The structure can store nearly 150 million cubic meters of water.
From the dam you can see the old, restored Khmer temple Prasat Nong Hong near a school to the north .
