Lambert de Saint-Bertin
Lambert de Saint-Bertin (* around 1060; † June 22, 1125 in the Abbey of Saint-Bertin ) was a French Benedictine and scholar.
From 1095 to 1125 Lambertus was abbot of the Abbey of Saint-Bertin in Saint-Omer (Pas-de-Calais) .
Lambert was assigned the authorship of the Tractatus de moribus . This contains records of conversations with Anselm of Canterbury , who visited the abbey in November 1097. Numerous theological and philosophical writings of Lambert, which are reported, have not survived.
It is controversial whether Abbot Lambert is the author of Liber Floridus or whether a monk of the same name is to be regarded as the author. Since its author Lambert de Saint-Omer was working in the same place at the same time, there was some confusion about the author. Recent research separates the Abbot Lambert from the author of the same name Liber Floridus .
