Lambert of Tuscany

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lambert († after 938) was the second son of Margrave Adalbert II of Tuszien and Bertha of Lotharingien . With the death of his brother Guido without an heir, he became Count and Duke of Lucca and Margrave of Tuscany in 928 or 929 .

In the year 931, before October 17th, he was blinded by his half-brother Hugo von Vienne , the king of Italy and son of Berthas from their first marriage, and thus rendered incapable of governing . Hugo then gave the family property, Lucca and Tuscany, to his own brother Boso , thus establishing the rule of the Bosonids over Tuscia .
