Boso of Tuscany

Boso (* before 911; † after 936) from the family of bosonids was 911-931 Count of Avignon and Vaison , 926-931 Count of Arles and 931-936 Margrave of Tuscany ; he was the younger son of Count Theotbald of Arles and Bertha of Lorraine . His paternal grandfather was Duke Hugbert of Transjurania , his maternal grandfather was King Lothar II of Lotharingia ( Carolingian ). His older brother was Hugo I , King of Italy .

In 926 he succeeded his brother as Count of Arles when he was crowned King of Italy. Boso also turned to Italy, where he became Margrave of Tuscany in 931 - after Hugo had blinded his half-brother Lambert of Tuscany. When he left, his son-in-law Boso I became his successor.

He married Willa, who is attested in 936, a daughter of Rudolf I, King of Burgundy ( Welfen ), with whom he had four daughters:
