Lamin Conateh , also called Bakaye (born October 1, 1981 in Bakau ), is a football player from Gambia and central defender of his country's national team .

Conateh has so far (February 2008) completed 25 international matches. He played for Wallidan Banjul , the best team in Gambia based on the number of championships won. Then he went to Bakau United , whose team also plays in the Gambian elite league, the GFA League First Division . Bakau was his last team in Gambia before he was signed by the Swedish club Assyriska FF Södertälje .
