The Lamothe River is a river on the west coast of Dominica . It runs in the Parish of St. John and empties into the Lamothe Bay into the Caribbean Sea .
geography
The Lamothe River rises on the northern flank of the Morne aux Diables ( ⊙ ). The springs are on the border with Parish St. Andrew and only a few meters from the sources of the Demitrie River , which flows east from there. Several source rivers of the Lamothe initially flow north, where after a short run they also receive a small tributary from Cold Soufrière ( ⊙ ), a sulfur spring . Then the creek on the western slope of Bellevue Mountain turns west and from there the river flows steadily in a westerly direction, taking in small tributaries from Degazon Estate , Jalousie and Valley Estate from the left and south and empties into Lamothe Bay between Cottage and Clifton . The catchment area of the Clifton River connects to the north and the Toucari catchment area with the small streams Cottage Ravine , Cimetiere Ravine , Toucari River and Toucari Ravine to the south .
