State riot police of Saxony-Anhalt
The state riot police of Saxony-Anhalt was an institution of the Saxony-Anhalt police until December 31, 2018 .
In contrast to the police departments, which were assigned the police duties in their respective districts, the state riot police provided personnel and special command and control equipment and supported the police departments in particular. After its dissolution, the tasks were taken over by the Police Inspection Central Services Saxony-Anhalt .

The tasks of the state riot police included, in particular, the support of the police authorities in dealing with police operations that went beyond the requirements of everyday organization. In addition to demonstrative actions, this could also be football games, missions to combat outstanding crime phenomena, but also missions in connection with disasters. The support of individual police forces, the fight against crime areas and the main causes of traffic accidents or the search for missing persons were among the fields of activity.

Mission units
These included an evidence preservation and arrest hundred units (BFE), two tactical deployment units (EHu) and a technical operation unit (TEE).
While the evidence preservation and arrest units were used in particular in situations with a violent course, increased risk potential and to carry out conclusive arrests of criminals, the deployment hundreds were mainly used for tactical standard tasks.
The technical operations unit supported the units as well as the individual police service by providing and deploying staff or special technical command and control equipment, such as:
- Shut-off devices
- Vehicles with special equipment for clearing, locking, recovering and illuminating, e.g. B. water cannons, tractor with loading crane, light mast vehicles or special vehicles 4,
- Groups of divers for the underwater search and recovery of missing persons, stolen property or evidence.
The operational units of the state riot police of Saxony-Anhalt were deployed throughout Saxony-Anhalt , but in special cases also in other federal states.
Training
The police practice department (LPP) was assigned to the state riot police. His tasks included the practical training of the police chief and police commissioner candidates as part of the training or the modularized study of the police college. In addition, the Police Practice department carried out national central training courses on selected topics as well as internal training courses for the riot police.
Central special services
The police helicopter squadron , the state police orchestra , the police medical center / medical expert service, medical care and the state office for police media work were still assigned to the state riot police as central special services .
Locations
The state riot police of Saxony-Anhalt had their headquarters in Magdeburg and a location with an emergency train in Halle / Saale .
