The state vocational school for the hospitality and food industry Emma Hellenstainer is located in Brixen , South Tyrol . The school was named after the innkeeper and tourism pioneer Emma Hellenstainer .

history

The school was rebuilt and moved into in autumn 1983. Before that, the apprentices were trained in Bolzano. After a strong rush, the school became too small and from the school year 1987/88 the state vocational school for the hospitality industry was set up in the former Hotel Savoy in Merano . In 1989/90 the building was expanded slightly. In 2010 there was a further extension (7,800 m³) as well as the renewal of some areas of the existing building. It was inaugurated and moved into in autumn 2011.

Initial and continuing education

In the first two years of hotel management school (biennium), students are prepared for the Matura . The students who successfully complete the biennium can then attend the three-year State Hotel Management School Kaiserhof in Meran or the Hotel Management School in Bruneck .

The apprenticeship training takes place in the professions of cook , service specialist , baker , butcher and confectioner . Furthermore, advanced training courses for obtaining the master craftsman's certificate in the professions mentioned and various advanced and specialization courses in the areas of gastronomy and the food industry are offered.
