The state education server Baden-Württemberg is the standard platform of the state of Baden-Württemberg in the school environment . It was operated and further developed by the State Institute for School Development (LS) on behalf of and in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport until February 2019 ; The tasks of the former state institute were taken over by the newly founded Institute for Educational Analysis Baden-Württemberg (IBBW) from March 2019 . It supports the processes of school and quality development. The target groups are teachers, but also everyone else involved and interested in school life.

The main goal is to motivate teachers of all subjects and all types of schools to integrate modern digital media into their lessons. Numerous examples, suggestions and instructions are available for this on the publicly accessible internet platform. Wherever it makes sense, the content is collected across all school types in specialist portals. School-type portals are also available for school-type-specific materials. The pedagogical, didactic and content-related materials are constantly being supplemented and updated.

The abundance of subjects and learning content in the various types of schools cannot be covered on the server. Therefore, a wide range of exemplary selection of suitable materials is available. The offer includes hints and information on lesson preparation, tips on how to design lessons using PC and Internet, downloadable work materials, project documentation, presentation of work processes and experiments, and much more. Interactive learning modules, some of which run on the server, some of which can be downloaded by the user and started locally, deserve special attention. Colleagues should not only use the given materials, they should also be encouraged to develop similar things themselves, use them in their own lessons and, if possible, make them available for publication on the state education server .

All sections of the server are edited to ensure quality. Automatic self-entries are not possible.

Lecturers from the state have the option of developing centrally accessible e-learning courses including learning objective controls on the state education server in a comfortable environment ( Moodle ) and defining individual reading permissions for these courses. Authorized users, e.g. B. your own students can work on these courses interactively.

In addition to websites, downloads and the Moodle e-learning platform, the state education server offers other services such as: B. Mailing lists, groupware BSCW ( Basic Support for Cooperative Work , German: basic support for cooperation ), survey tools ( LimeSurvey ) and forums.
