Regional Court (Germany)
As a regional court , Section 154 of the Courts Constitution Act (GVG) designates any state court whose sponsor is not the federal government , but one or more of the sixteen states of the Federal Republic of Germany. In legal linguistic usage, these courts are usually referred to in the plural as courts of the federal states. The opposite term is that of the Federal Supreme Court .
According to Article 92 of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany , the judicial power is exercised by the Federal Constitutional Court and the other federal courts enumerated in the Basic Law and otherwise by the courts of the federal states.
Courts of the countries are:
- for ordinary jurisdiction the higher regional courts (except in cases in which they exceptionally act as federal courts), the regional courts and local courts ,
- for labor jurisdiction, the state labor courts and labor courts ,
- for administrative jurisdiction the higher administrative courts and administrative courts ,
- for social jurisdiction the regional social courts and social courts
- for the financial jurisdiction the financial courts .
- for the constitutional court , the country's constitutional court .
