State Rectors' Conference

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The universities of the federal states in the Federal Republic of Germany are represented in the State Rectors' Conference (LRK) by their rectors or by their presidents in accordance with the regulations of the respective LRK.

term

The associations of the rectors or presidents of universities with the aim of cooperation are sometimes named differently. Instead, there is a state university conference in Hamburg and Lower Saxony.

tasks and goals

The LRK promotes cooperation between the universities and deals with general issues of their members. The main concern of the LRK is to develop concepts for university development, to tackle problems that arise at all universities together and to introduce the objectives of universities and technical colleges into the political decision-making process and into the public's perception.

In order to be able to implement this claim, the LRK develops joint statements on university and science policy issues. The member universities are informed about developments in higher education policy and problems and objectives that have been worked out by the LRK are made public. The joint decisions and resolutions required for this are prepared in advance through statements and recommendations that the rectors or presidents work out in their universities.

The LRK is a member of the University Rectors' Conference .

There are state rectors' conferences in Thuringia , Saxony-Anhalt , Baden-Württemberg , North Rhine-Westphalia , Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein .
