The State Association for Market Trade and Showmen Hessen e. V. (short: LMS Hessen ) is an organization of the market and travel trade for around 6500 independent companies in Hessen.
history
The association was founded on November 19, 1990. It emerged from the dissolution of the previous organization HLV (Hessian State Association of the Ambulatory Trade). The founding president was Uwe Reichert, who headed the association until it was restructured in May 2003. In 1996 the event organization Markt und Fest Projekt was incorporated into the association and in 2000 a full-time office was set up. The association organizes markets such as the Schillermarkt and the Kaisermarkt in Frankfurt am Main as well as the old town market in Langen . He carried out the fan mile for the 2006 World Cup.

Professional groups from the market and travel trade are organized in the association. Members are thus weekly and general store dealers , showmen , direct marketers , self-producers and propagandists . The membership structure includes local and district associations, but also individual members and cooperating municipalities. The association's board of directors is divided into work areas and areas of responsibility, each of which is represented by a member on the advisory board of the presidium . The association has a legal department. Administration is carried out by the full-time state office and the voluntary branch offices. A special-purpose commercial enterprise is affiliated with the association.
According to the statute , the seat is in Giessen , the administration is in Mengerskirchen . The association is led by the managing director Roger Simak and employs 16 people. The LMS publishes the trade journal Der Hessenmarkt .
aims
The association represents the fundamental interests of its members, including towards the Hessian state government. One purpose of the statutes is to combat unfair competition . The interests at the national and European level are represented by the umbrella organization BSM in Berlin and Bonn. The LMS offers branch-specific training opportunities and maintains close contact with the chambers of industry and commerce in Hesse and the Association of Tax Payers Hesse e. V.
