Dornbirn District Court

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dornbirn Regional Court was an older Bavarian regional court that existed from 1805 to 1814 and was based in Dornbirn in what is now the Austrian state of Vorarlberg . In the Kingdom of Bavaria , the regional courts were judicial and administrative authorities, which were replaced in administrative matters by the district offices in 1862 and in legal matters by the local courts in 1879 . However, these developments were no longer relevant for the Dornbirn Regional Court, as this was dissolved again in 1814 when Dornbirn returned to Austria.

history

Since in 1805 the area around Dornbirn came to the Kingdom of Bavaria as a result of the Peace Treaty of Pressburg after the Third Coalition War , the District Court of Dornbirn was established through an administrative reorganization of Bavaria . This came to the newly founded Illerkreis with the capital Kempten .

In 1814, Vorarlberg and Tyrol became Austrian again after the Congress of Vienna , with the result that the Bavarian court administration was also dissolved and the Austrian regional court system that existed until 1805 was reintroduced. It was not until 1849, with a reorganization of the Austrian court organization, that the scheme anticipated by the Bavarians with six regional and, later, district courts, was introduced in Vorarlberg. Today there are six district courts in the state of Vorarlberg, one of which is the Dornbirn District Court with its associated judicial district .
