Landhaus Roser, once the seat of the leather manufacturer family of the same name

The Landhaus Roser is a residential building on Killesberg in Stuttgart-Nord at Bismarck Tower 58.

The country house was built in 1921 by Paul Bonatz , a German architect and influential university professor and bridge designer, who is counted among the main representatives of the Stuttgart School of Architecture. The property was designed for the Feuerbach leather manufacturer Willi Roser . Today the Novalis School resides in the building .

architecture

The building has a closed, cubic hipped roof with a beaver tail roof covering and handcrafted details on the windows and railings. The roof has curved ornamental gables. The house represents the traditional, conservative architectural concept of its builder. Strict facade shapes, a symmetrical-axial floor plan and grouted brick masonry over natural stone plinths (quality feature) form typicalisms for Bonatz. This symmetrical villa style is borrowed from that of the Northern Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio . The main component is two-storey and wide. This is flanked by two side structures that are single-storey and also have hipped roofs. The design of this facility is reminiscent of an enclosed courtyard.

Villa Roser

Not far from the villa was commissioned by the industrialist family Roser in the years 1925-26 the Villa Roser created. The architect of this building was Paul Schmitthenner , a colleague of Paul Bonatz at the “Stuttgart School”. The villa is located at Feuerbacher Weg 51.
