Landscape protection area FFH area Leiberger Wald

The landscape protection area FFH area Leiberger Wald with 5.76  hectares is located in the urban area of Bad Wünnenberg in the Paderborn district . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 2007 by the district council with the landscape plan Büren-Wünnenberg. The LSG consists of two areas. Both border on the nature reserve Leiberger Wald . Both areas have belonged to the FFH area Leiberger Wald (DE 4517-303) since 2004 .

description

LSG covers the southern edge of the large, contiguous Leiberger Forest. There is a high proportion of species-rich beech forests in the LSG. There are also spruce forests, wet forests and individual grassland areas in the area of variously structured springs. To optimize it, the medium-term conversion of coniferous wood stocks into deciduous forests suitable for the location and the extensification of the agriculturally used areas should come about.

As development and maintenance measures, the agriculturally used areas should be used as extensive meadows, hay meadows or pastures. Fallow grassland areas should be maintained extensively. The edge of the banks on the Nette and the edge of the ditch should be left to natural development, as long as this does not conflict with the habitat requirements of species worthy of protection.
