The protected landscape area Röhraue with an area of ​​87.1  hectares is located in the urban area of Arnsberg . It was designated in 1998 with the Arnsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerland district as a landscape protection area (LSG) type C (meadow valleys) . The LSG consists of four sub-areas and borders directly on the settlement area.
