Lentvaris (German, 18th Century: Landwerau , Polish Landwarów ) is a small town and center of a country office of thehistory
The place was first mentioned in 1596. The economic boom began with the construction of the St. Petersburg – Warsaw railway line in 1861. In 1946 the place received city rights. A striking building is the neo-Gothic palace of Counts Tyszkiewicz / Tiškevičius from the 19th century. The Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built from 1910 and consecrated in 1926, the tower was added from 1927 to 1934.
