The Landy Ice Rises are a group of six ice domes on the coast of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . They rise out of the brook ice shelf near the head of Stravinsky Inlet .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1980 after the glaciologist Michael Paul Landy (* 1954), who worked for the British Antarctic Survey from 1975 to 1981 and carried out research in this area from 1975 to 1977.
