Langenbacher fountain
The Langenbacher Brunnen is a spring in the Upper Franconian municipality of Marktleugast .
It is located in the forest at 547 m altitude, approx. 2 km northeast of the village of Marktleugast, near the Große Koser and 500 m north of the federal highway 289 .
history
The source was - documented - drinking water well of the village Langenbach, first mentioned in 1247, which was mentioned as a desert as early as 1502 . In 2009 the area around the source was renovated by the municipality of Marktleugast with the help of some citizens.

The iron-rich water of the stone-framed surface spring comes from a depth of 52 meters.
Legend
The water is said to have miraculous powers; its properties are said to be similar to those of the fountain in the French pilgrimage site of Lourdes .
